The 7 day plan cabbage soup diet is hell for many people that want to lose weight. But it is the most extreme weight loss plan for a reason – because it works. And if you can make yourself through hell week then the 7 day plan cabbage soup diet will give you serious results.
The 7 day plan cabbage soup diet is not a long term diet plan and should only ever be followed for 7 days only and if you are going to repeat the 7 day plan cabbage soup diet you must not do so until a month has passed.
This diet is great if you want to lose half a stone for a wedding or you are going on holiday and want to look hot on the beach. It is also very good if you are stuck in a rut with your weight loss and you want to give your body a kick in the right direction.
One thing to expect though is a small weight gain the second week after you have followed this diet. This is nothing to worry about and is simply your body re-adjusting after this diet. The reason it does this is that you are having a very restricted calorie count, then the week after you are returning to your normal diet and your body is experiencing a big jump in calories, so this creates a small weight gain while your body adjusts.
In general I have found that on the Cabbage Soup Diet you will lose 7-10 pounds and then gain about 1.5 pounds the week after. Still giving you a 5.5-8.5 pounds weight loss from a 7 day diet plan!
The people that have the biggest weight loss with this will be those that were not on a diet to begin with as they have had the biggest drop in calories.
7 Day Plan Cabbage Soup Diet
Below is how to follow the cabbage soup diet for 7 days. It is very calorie restricted so don’t be surprised if like me, that at times you feel light headed or suffer the odd headache as a result. But at the end of the day its only seven days so who cares?
When it takes most of us eight weeks to lose 10 pounds imagine how amazing it would be to lose it all in 7 short days?
7 Day Plan Cabbage Soup Diet Day # 1
Today you can eat as much soup as you like and as much fruit as you like as long as you don’t have any bananas.
For drinks you can have unsweetened teas, cranberry juice and water.
What I say in my internet marketing business applies to this too – always think outside the box. How can you make today’s food worth eating?
For me on day one it was all about the fruit salad. What if you made up a huge bowl of fruit salad in the fridge and whenever you felt hungry you could head to the fridge and help yourself to some.

7 Day Plan Cabbage Soup Diet Day # 2
Welcome to day two on the Cabbage Soup Diet. If you have made it this far today is all about vegetables and soup and you can eat as many of them as you like. They can be raw or cooked the choice is yours. Those that aid weight loss are the green ones though stay away from garden peas and sweetcorn.
You also get to treat yourself with a large jacket potato and butter. And remember as Julia Child says anything tastes better with butter!
When I did the Cabbage Soup Diet last week I had a bowl with my large jacket potato with butter along with lots of broccoli and spinach. The butter had ran out of my jacket and gave me the nicest buttery spinach I have ever tasted.
If you one of those that picks during meals chop up some raw carrot and pick on it during the day.
7 Day Plan Cabbage Soup Diet Day # 3
Day three is not much different to what you have already done and is a mixture of day 1 and 2 combined minus the jacket potato. You can have as much soup, fruit and vegetables as you like. And of course no banana again!
On this day I had steamed vegetables for dinner and for my evening meal I had soup with my fruit salad. Then I also had a nice apple through the day as well.
7 Day Plan Cabbage Soup Diet Day # 4
Now this is the first day when you will not feel hungry or unsatisfied at all. As today along with your soup you can have up to 8 bananas and as much skimmed milk as you can drink.
I was amazed by how the combination of bananas and milk could honestly make you feel so satisfied. It was so full it was unbelievable. I could have up to 8 bananas but could only manage 6 along with a litre of skimmed milk.
I don’t think I have drank milk since I was little and I was surprised after years on skimmed milk how tasty skimmed actually is.
And if you can’t be bothered to eat so many bananas mix it up to make a really nice banana smoothie.
I was actually still full from my bananas and milk the next day so it sure does make you feel better on your diet.
7 Day Plan Cabbage Soup Diet Day # 5
What I loved about this is because I started it on Monday my weekend family meals fell at the same time as the day 5 and 6 meat meals that were perfect. So before you start I suggest that you look at the diet plan and what start date would work best for you.
Today you can have meat or fish and tomatoes. Tomatoes is my addiction so it went down very well. I had a tub of cherry tomatoes for lunch along with my soup. Then in the evening I had chicken breast with some of my soup poured over and it tasted amazing.
For the meat or fish you can choose between beef, chicken, steamed salmon. Your are having beef tomorrow so unless you like a lot of beef if I was you I would choose the chicken or salmon.
Though unfortunately you cant have any skin on the chicken!
It’s also important today that you drink lots of water (minimum 2 litres) to flush out all the fruit, vegetables and milk that you have had over the last few days.
7 Day Plan Cabbage Soup Diet Day # 6
Today is all about beef and green vegetables along with the soup. You can have up to three beef steaks today if you wish.
I had a small steak on its own with peppercorns for dinner. Then in the evening I had a medium steak with broccoli and spinach. And it was amazing and I can’t believe it was part of a calorie restricted diet!
7 Day Plan Cabbage Soup Diet Day # 7
Time to celebrate you made it to the final day and your treat is brown rice, unsweetened fruit juices and vegetables.
Unfortunately I am not that fussed for unsweetened fruit juice and I can’t source brown rice so today for me is a day of vegetables and soup. I notice that I have not used as much of my soup as planned so I have 2 days worth which will make today more bearable.
If you can get brown rice I would suggest that you have a plate of brown rice and steamed vegetables for lunch and dinner. That way you wont be left hungry and you will feel really satisfied.
