I am sure you’ve noticed on My Weight Loss Dream that a big part of the blogging has been me trying and testing new diets. If they have escaped you then you can read more about them here.
First of all, I absolutely love doing them. I love the relationship that we have with what we eat and drink. The way our body absorbs calories and how our bodies react to an increase or decrease in calories.
However, at the same time with each one I am pulling my body in a different direction and it wants a break and it wants to feel normal again.
When you’ve supplemented your meals with different things, there is that urge that your body needs to replace what it is missing on the long term and this ends up resulting in a lot more bingeing than you would normally do.
I don’t normally have a big binge (well unless pregnancy or periods are involved) and it made me realise that my body needed a rest and that chocolate everyday was the answer to my prayers.
But it wont be an end to it either, well this is because at the moment where I am most interested (experiment wise) is fitness. It’s my area that I want to improve on right now and its rather fun at the same time.
If you missed my first fitness video on You Tube then you can watch it below:
I have lots more fitness videos planned and right now my diet is very much Slimming World style and this is why:
I have always advised people when starting a diet from scratch to concentrate on a programme like Slimming World or Weight Watchers. The reason for this is that it’s great for regulating your body and bringing lots of healthy foods and snacks into your life without the need for counting calories.
It makes you really enjoy your food again and realise how much you love everyday food done in a healthy way.
We are generally healthy (well most of the time) and I have just realised that we have not even entered a fast food establishment for over three months, which has to be a record for us.
I was also reading some slow cooker recipes on a Facebook group last week and they struck me for how unhealthy they were. They were promoting five ingredients or fewer recipes and when you saw the level of processed foods in them it was rather scary.
There was a recipe for chicken in the slow cooker and it was something along the lines of chicken breast, process sauce, more processed sauce and some frozen vegetables and I can’t remember even ever having this much of the processed rubbish in my life.
What I love about my slow cooker is that everything is fresh (well minus the dried herbs) and it’s all about quick easy cooking and enjoying your food.
More experiments at a later date
I do plan on doing some more experiments but I imagine it will either revolve around fitness or be based around the different diets of Slimming World so watch this space for some subtle blogging changes!!!!
