Looking at the calendar and seeing how close it is to summer has many people panicking. Panicking that they won’t be able to get into their bikini, into their summer dress, look good enough on the beach or feel like the fat one at the summer barbeque.
Well I have another reason to want to be slimmer for the summer. Well two actually.
- My summer wardrobe doesn’t fit me and I refuse to buy bigger clothes
- I have not lost weight in a long time due to pregnancy
I also find that summer is the time I find it easiest to lose weight and I am full of motivation and excitement about getting into the swing of things for summer.
When I reflect over summer 2013 (the best year I had for weight loss since this blog started) it was because I was getting involved in the great outdoors and it works so well.
In summer even though I have more pastry binges thanks to picnics on the beach and at the park, it is also a time when I end up walking a lot more and also when swimming becomes my main vice. But that is not the only reason. The main thing I put it down to is the fact that I am exercising and being active in the heat.
I am sweating a lot more and it’s much easier for the weight to leave my body. I can struggle all winter to lose a stone, yet in summer I can drop 2 stone in eight weeks.
Therefore I am super excited to get going and to make it happen – I now have a new target to reach my target weight (I want to weigh 9 stone 3 pounds) and that is Halloween. It will also be my mother’s 60th birthday on that date and with lots of camera phones being about it means it can be the perfect time for reaching my target.
This would then give me a grand total weight loss of 100 pounds and would give me a healthy BMI based on my height. This also gives me six full months to lose 3 stone and 4 pounds (20.8 kilos if you go with kilos) and I am really looking forward to it!
I am sure I am not the only one that is getting ready for summer and is focused on weight loss and a new body. I am sure in my typical style though, that I will be trying and testing lots of experiments and I have plenty of new ones on the go.
So watch this space for the results and how it all goes. And don’t forget to share with me how you are doing it too!
