Beyonce is branching out with a new business aimed at helping people to lose weight by following a vegan eating plan.
According to a report by The Examiner, the award winning singer is launching a new vegan diet meal delivery programme in conjunction with her fitness trainer Marcos Borges.
Beyonce herself credits a vegan diet plan with her being able to lose an enormous 65 pounds after she gave birth to her child and the new service will be drawing on the very same plan that Beyonce used to get back into shape and drop her baby weight.
According to The Examiner, the vegan meals offered on Beyonce’s weekly food delivery service range in price from between$9.76 and $16.50 and are all 100 percent plant-based and gluten-free.
None of the foods in the plan contain soy, dairy or GMOs and Beyonce has said that she is proud to offer the vegan meal plan to help others reach their weight loss and health goals.
In a press release, Beyonce said: “I am so grateful that I took the challenge and credit Marco with leading by example.”
She added: “He came up with a great programme to get people motivated to make better nutritional choices. All you have to do is try. If I can do it, anyone can.”
Fans were able to see Beyonce and her husband transform themselves back in December 2013 when they embarked on the vegan diet programme.
It was reported that the reason for Jay-Z to go vegan was because he was looking for a “physical and spiritual cleanse” while Beyonce was able to slim back down to her pre baby shape.
Celebrity Health reported that Beyonce and Jay-Z no longer follow a 100 percent vegan diet, but continue to eat mostly vegan for weight loss and health reasons.
“Beyonce’s sticking to a mostly plant-based diet with some fish here and there,” said Borges, CEO of 22 Days Nutrition, a maker of vegan, organic, gluten-free protein bars.
Beyonce reached 195 pounds while she was pregnant and lost 65 pounds shortly afterwards by following a mostly vegan diet and working out several days a week.
According to the Examiner, Marco said Beyoncé is a workout fanatic who usually works out with Jay-Z, doing a combination of cardio exercise, body-weight squats, lunges, sprint intervals and plyometric exercises.
“They’ll work out together whenever possible,” said Borges. “Beyonce will be running and he’ll be on a bike, or she’ll be jumping rope and he’ll be running.”
