When I think of the cabbage soup diet I have visions of coming home from school to my mum making catering supplies of green mush. Otherwise known as the 1980’s and their love for following the cabbage soup diet. It looked disgusting and probably tasted disgusting and as my dad pointed out, gave my mum a lot of wind.
Well that was my first impression of the cabbage soup diet and it was many years later before I heard it mentioned before. In fact it was the first diet blog I ever owned and something that I have long since sold.
But not so long ago I decided to give the cabbage soup diet another go and to see whether it could be a pleasant experience in this modern era that we all live in. Whether I could make a half decent soup that didn’t give me constant wind and one that would leave me satisfied.
I also wanted to create something that wasn’t all about cabbage. But was about tasty in season vegetables that you could easily create at home and that’s exactly what has happened here. I love delicious soup and in my opinion, it is an added bonus that you can lose weight at the same time.
