It is not often that a selfie posted by a celebrity is meant to inspire but actress Hilary Duff has done just that by posting a picture of herself looking fantastic and reminding all mums to love their bodies.
Hilary Duff posted a picture of herself in all her post baby weight glory while wearing a bikini on to her Instagram account and urged all mums out there to love their bodies.
The caption on her Instagram picture read: “Hey #moms #westillgotit #loveyourbod,”
While Hilary Duff is rightfully proud of her body she has admitted that it was not easy for her to shed her baby weight after giving birth and that it took longer for her to bounce back into shape than other celebrity mums.
The secret behind the success of Hilary Duff has not been following any fad diet, but instead by watching her portions carefully and doing plenty of yoga and boxing to help her to keep in shape.
Hilary Duff gave birth to her son Luca in May 2012, and said that it has been a long journey to get back to her pre baby weight.
“Everyone was so hard on me because it took me a year and a half to get my body back!” she said.
It is important for Hillary to be in shape but not at the expense of her health and she admitted that she did used to focus too heavily on her weight when she was younger.
“When I was 17, I weighed 98 pounds,” said Duff, who’s 5-foot-2. “I was totally obsessed with everything I put in my mouth. I was way too skinny. And my body wasn’t that healthy.”
Now 27 year old Hilary has embraced her figure and does not dwell on how she thinks she should look. Instead she follows a healthy approach to food and exercise without needing to follow celebrity diet trends she as the ketogenic, Paleo or Atins diets popular with other celebrity mothers.
“I feel most healthy when I enjoy small bites of the things I love,” said Hilary. “I used to feel bad about eating French fries. But you have to think, ‘That’s OK, I’ll eat healthier tomorrow.'”
A good balance between being able to enjoy the foods you love while also sticking to a healthy eating plan has been shown to offer a greater level of success for dieters. By combining an exercise routine with healthy eating Hilary has been able to slowly lose her post baby weight and it looks like she is likely to keep it off too!
