I now have just a couple of weeks left of my pregnancy and the first thought on my agenda (apart from my beautiful baby) is carrying on with my weight loss journey.
When I became pregnant I was 4 stone down with another 3 stone STILL left to go and I can’t want to carry on with my weight loss dream. But when I reflect back on my weight loss since I started the first time I felt like my body was changing for the better was when I hit the point of losing 10% of myself.
Its that time when your body feels so much better even though it still has a way still to go. For me this was when I hit 14 stone 11 pounds and even though I was still clinically obese at the time I did feel fabulous!
Now a stone lighter (well just over) with a full term baby inside me I know that the side effects of pregnancy such as back ache will feel amazing once gone.
Weight loss is about a positive change
Losing weight is all about making a positive change to your life as a whole, not only will losing weight help you to look your best but it will also help you to feel your best, and by losing 10 percent of your body weight you can instantly feel the benefits.
When you are aiming for a weight loss goal such as losing 10 percent of your body weight, it can seem like you are aiming for the impossible but it really is an achievable goal, especially if you call in the experts for some help to get you kick started.
Attending a fitness or weight loss boot camp in a luxurious location such as in Thailand can be a great way to set you on your very own journey to weight loss.
A weight loss goal such as losing 10 percent of your starting body weight can have massive health benefits for everyone, no matter how over weight you are when you begin the process.
If you are starting out a fitness and weight loss programme weighing 15 stone then a 10 percent weight loss will lead you to need to reach a weight loss of 1.5 stone – which is actually quite achievable if you follow a healthy plan and give yourself time.
A 10 percent weight loss will of course make you look much slimmer and will give you the chance to try and squeeze back into some clothes that you thought you may never wear again but it will also give you some rather impressive health benefits to.
Type 2 diabetes & other health problems cured
Anyone who is overweight is at a higher risk of Type 2 diabetes and losing weight helps to reduce this risk dramatically to make you healthier. Many people who are already overweight also already have Type 2 diabetes but by reducing your weight by 10 percent you can also lessen the symptoms of Type 2 diabetes and help to ward off any future complications – so don’t feel despondent if you already have this disease, any weight loss can help to make life better.
Being overweight also puts a huge strain on your heart and by losing just 10 percent of your body weight you will help to not only reduce your blood pressure but also your cholesterol levels which are both massive factors in heart disease.
While there are of course some pretty serious health benefits to losing 10 percent of your body weight, there are also some mental benefits too including a feeling of achievement which you will get when you reach your target which will help to push you on to lose more weight in the future if you need to.
Nothing feels better than reaching a goal, no matter what that goal is and the 10 percent body weight goal is one that anyone who I overweight and wants to get healthy should be looking to start and complete.
Often the most difficult step that you take when you are aiming to lose weight is to admit that you have a problem in the first place. We all look in the mirror and wish we saw something a little different and even the fittest of people have parts of their body that they are not happy with and would like to change but realising that your weight is a problem that you need to deal with is a very important step.
Once you have admitted the problem then it can be equally hard to do something about it.
The bootcamp motivator
Of course we could all pop on a home fitness DVD and start working up a sweat but we all know it is far easier to sit on the sofa and eat another bag of crisps.
Making the decision to put on your trainers and go for a walk or visit the gym can be incredibly difficult, which is why starting your new fitness regime and weight loss programme somewhere totally different can be a real help.
If you are looking to lose a lot of weight and are aiming for a goal such as 10 percent of your total body weight then it can be a really good idea to leave your everyday life entirely and start a fresh somewhere else to get you going.
Fitness bootcamps around the world in beautiful locations such as Thailand, give anybody who is looking to lose weight a helping hand by getting them out of their old routine entirely and helping them to achieve their fitness and weight loss goals.
It can be possible to lose a good deal of weight at a specific fitness bootcamp, but it is not all about the sweating in the gym and training on the beach, it is also about learning how to change your diet, how to eat healthily and learning the importance of looking after your body for the future.
Changing your lifestyle means changing your mind set, one that you may have developed over decades, however a short sharp burst in a bootcamp can be the encouragement that you need to get going and start a new life.
The tools, tip and tricks that you learn about healthy eating and exercising at a bootcamp can help you well on your way to losing your first 10 percent of weight but it is the knowledge that you have learnt while there that you take home with you that is so very valuable and will help you to continue on your weight loss journey until you reach your final goal.
Signing up for a fitness bootcamp to help you to reach your 10 percent weight loss goal may be the start but the journey can continue on long after and for the rest of your life as you adapt to being a healthier and happier person – forever.

If you would like to find out more information about Beast Fitness and book your own bootcamp whether you are pregnant or not then click here. Often, it is so much nicer to take part in a bootcamp rather than do it all on your own.
Samantha Vogee who is behind Beast Fitness Asia first became interested in putting a bootcamp together after weight gain after pregnancy. Therefore if it wasn’t for how far away it was I would personally be there in a shot!
