Kirstie Alley is known for her fluctuating weight but she spent most of 2014 dealing with her diet and losing weight, something she intends to continue to follow throughout 2015 while also inspiring others to do the same.
Already Kirstie Alley has managed to lose around 50 pounds and now she is sharing her weight loss secrets with the rest of the world.
Speaking to Yahoo Kirstie Alley explained how she managed to get back into shape and feel healthy and great again.
When asked how she managed to lose 50 pounds Kirstie Alley said to Yahoo: “I did it using Jenny Craig. I’m sort of the perfect fit with Jenny Craig because I like good food, as we know, and they have good food with some control of portion sizes.”
While the process was one Kirstie Alley had to stick to it didn’t take long for her to drop the weight, especially when considering how long it took to put on in the first place. She said: “It took me nine months to lose it. Because I set out to lose 30 and then I lost that relatively easily. And I thought… I didn’t want to buy a whole new wardrobe, so I wanted to get into clothes that I had in my closet from being thinner. So then I thought, “I’m gonna go for this” and I did. If you don’t set an expectation that’s crazy — I don’t know how much people have to lose — but for me 30 pounds seemed real, that I would lose that in six months and then 50 pounds seemed like, “Oh, I could do that if I had another three months.”
I’d imagine that’s important. If you set a crazy expectation for yourself, you’re only setting yourself up for failure.”
She added: “The other thing I think that’s important along your journey of losing weight — and this is what happened for me this time, which I think really makes the difference — is if you can really learn how to live the rest of your life to maintain that weight and maintain your health. And that’s where the Jenny Craig consultant came in really handy for me.
“You see them every week, you tell them what was hard for you, you tell them what was easy for you, and they help you design [a program] for your life. Because everybody lives a very different life. My life might have three parties and two events, and someone else’s life [might consist of] going to lunch every day this week, so everybody’s got a different lifestyle and that’s why you have a personal consultant.”
