Welcome to stage 6 of my learning to run Podcasts at My Weight Loss Dream.
As stage 6 enters my world so does something else that is super special….I now have the confidence and the buzz that comes with weight loss and exercise. As I write this from our office while eating a tasty salad that Dominic has just made me, I see myself looking down.
I am wearing a tight tshirt (I never thought I would ever fit into one of those) and jeggings. I feel fantastic because I have just got in from a quick run down the lane with my son and the dog and it feels amazing to say that I can now achieve all this.
Prior to today I have lost a total of 74 pounds and when I look at my fat pictures it is like a bad nightmare that I have finally woke up from.
Even at 17 I couldn’t run, I was super unfit and apart from swimming I had no exercise in my life. Yet here I am aged 33 and I am in the best shape of my life. I thank you for listening to my Podcasts as they gave me a weekly schedule that I had to stick to and has made pushing past the wall so much easier.
If you are reading this post for the first time, start at the beginning and remember we all start somewhere and before you know it you will be rocking stage 6.
What’s Included In Learning To Run Stage 6
I really enjoyed this stage and it was a lot easier than I thought it was to complete. It is all about starting with a brisk walk and then having it so that you are running followed by half the time in walking. This gives you the 50% approach that will form a big part of your running during the later stages.
I am going for 5 minutes of running, followed by 2.5 minutes of walking and the total distance (including the walking) will be 2 miles.
