Baby Sofia is now a week old and showing Dominic & I that sleep is something that is not required!
She is hard work to breast feed, as she is way too lazy to actually eat and as such we spend a lot more time up during the night feeding her and changing her compared to what we did with Kyle. Plus of course, we are older this time around. Therefore sticking to a weight loss and fitness plan can be really taxing on the body!
I have recruited the help of a fitness and nutritionist to help me along the way with my plans and I am following a plan especially for new mums so that I can get back in shape without feeling like I have joined a gym and how using the little energy I have left can then go a long way!
Based on how much I weighed last week (12 stone 11.5 pounds) and my target weight of 9 stone 3 pounds I still have a way to go. But I am really looking forward to getting back into it and getting super healthy.
My Fitness This Week
My fitness this week has been very much about me getting back in shape and introducing exercise back into my life. Towards the end of the pregnancy I became very tired and really couldn’t be bothered to move and ended up going many weeks without any exercise at all.
Therefore along with the stitches that I have had I wanted something low impacts so that I could get fitter but where I wouldn’t put my body under strain either.
This week (especially as I have only just given birth) has been about 15 minutes exercise a day and I have enjoyed slow dancing with my baby and also some walking with her in the pram. There is nothing more special than taking your baby for a walk in the pram and you certainly don’t need music in order to get through the exercise.
My Diet This Week
My diet this week has been interesting as my aim is to fill my plate with 60% good foods that are associated with fat burning and still eating the chocolate and cheese that I love – just in moderation.
I hate the word DIET and was looking for something that was more low impact and that I could really enjoy and I believe that is what I have found.
There is no way right now, especially as a breast feeding mother that I could contemplate something restrictive such as the Cabbage Soup Diet, as life is for living and chocolate will always be top of my list.
The Results This Week
For this week I have lost half a pound – would love to know where that came off!!!!
And I also realised this week that I am now slap bang in the middle of my weight loss journey thanks to the weight loss this week. It sounds fabulous to say 50 pounds lost, 50 pounds to go!
It will just be interesting to see how long it takes to reach that 100 pounds target.
