Whenever Oprah Winfrey does anything, her millions of followers are always ready to listen and this time Oprah has been sharing her weight loss success with her fans via social media.
The media mogul is reported to have made a massive $12 million according to Market Watch for sharing about her weight loss and how she has managed to drop the pounds while still being able to eat bread every day – something many following low carb diets would be very interested to hear about!
The very lucrative Tweet was accompanied by a short video clip featuring Oprah talking about her Weight Watchers weight loss journey in which she said: “I lost 26 pounds, and I have eaten bread every single day.”
In the clip Oprah continued to say: “Inside every overweight woman is a woman she knows she can be. Many times you look in the mirror and you don’t even recognize your own self because you got lost—buried—in the weight that you carry. Nothing you’ve ever been through is wasted, so every time I tried and failed, every time I tried again, and every time I tried again, has brought me to this most powerful moment to say, ‘If not now, when?'”
She added: “I feel that way, and I know millions of other people feel that way. Are you ready? Let’s do this together.”
According to a report by E Online, only one hour after O sent her story out on Twitter, Weight Watchers shares climbed slightly over $2 a share, and since Winfrey owns roughly 6 million shares, the surge in share prices made the celeb $12 million just like that – not bad for one tweet!
Regardless of the money that Oprah is potentially making from her weight loss, losing 26 pounds is still an impressive result for the personality who has famously struggled with yo-yo dieting and dramatic weight gains and losses over the years.
It was only in October that Oprah announced that she had become a spokesperson for Weight Watchers and since then she has clearly been taking her own advice with the weight loss continuing.
Oprah joins a long line of celebrity dieters who have endorsed the Weight Watchers weight loss programme, including Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Hudson and Jenny McCarthy.
There are numerous different weight loss programme available for those looking to slim down in a healthy and controlled way with many citing the success of plans such as Weight Watchers as being down to the programme having a simple to follow format and lots of back up from group members.
