Singer Sam Smith has seen admitted that he has struggled with food most of his life but he has managed to lose an incredible 14 pounds in only two weeks and credits his weight loss success to a book.
The 22-year-old singer was recently snapped in France looking like he had managed to lose even more weight and showing off the success of his new “relationship with food”.
According to Sam Smith, the influence of a book on nutrition has been key to him finally winning his battle with his weight and is the reason for his rapid and dramatic weight loss.
While the multi award winning singer as not said exactly how much weight he has managed to lose in total he did let it slip that he was able to drop 14 pounds in only 14 days and he is clearly happy with the results as he looked slim, confident and stylish in France.
In recognition of his weight loss and as a means of thanks Sam Smith took to the social media photo sharing site Instagram and posted a message of thanks to the author of the book he credits for boosting his success.
Sam Smith posted: ‘Three weeks ago I met a woman who has completely changed my life. Amelia Freer has helped me lose over a stone in 2 weeks and has completely transformed my relationship with food.’
‘Love you Amelia & thank you for making me feel so happy inside and out @ameliafreer #eatnourishglow’
He added. ‘It’s not even about weight loss it’s about feeling happy in yourself.”
While his career may have soared to new heights, Sam Smith admitted in an interview with The Guardian last year that had a reliance upon food.
In the interview he said: ‘I think I prefer food to singing. It’s really bad, isn’t it? Food is my favourite thing in the world. I always say if I ate what I actually wanted to eat I’d be in one of those electronic scooters because I’d be too big.
‘I was a very big teenager. Well, massive actually. Well, not massive, but big. My dad basically became a fitness trainer to help me. He took courses and started to train me, and taught me how to eat better.’
He added: ‘I’m always going to have issues with my weight. We did loads of running. All the stuff you hate, he tried to make me do. He took out all the fizzy drinks, all the chocolate, all the bad foods in the house, which was unfair on my two sisters because they have a different body type to me.’
Let’s hope that Sam has now found a healthy way to lose weight and keep healthy while also boosting his self esteem.
