As many of you will know that read my blog regularly we are in the process of moving house. And we have been in our new home now for just over two weeks.
It has certainly been a challenge though!
First of all we were upgrading on size:
We had a 2 bedroom apartment in the town and we now have a four bedroom house in the countryside. It has a nice small garden (or there will be one when we remove all the rubble), several outbuildings and quite large rooms. There is also two bedrooms downstairs, a kitchen, bathroom and lounge then complete the downstairs areas. We then have a further two bedrooms upstairs.
Then for outbuildings we have an office, shower room and a few more buildings yet, that we haven’t decided on uses for.
It is a mess:
What has now become our office (well when we get it finished?) had to be cleared out as it was full to bursting with rubbish in it. Then we also had a house to clear out as it was left with everything, as I think all they took with them was their clothes. So there we are emptying out the house at the speed of lightening.
Fixing up what we can:
We also decided when we moved in, to have the kitchen, lounge and office done. The kitchen was of particular importance to use with us home cooking and doing recipes for this blog, then the office was a big deal because of wanting it ready for us working so it wasn’t too disruptive.
This then led to us having a lot more exercise than what we would normally do and also not bingeing as much as well. This was because we were way too busy to even think about chocolate and sweets and more interested in getting things done.
On most days we would be sitting down to our main meal at 9pm after a very tiring day. This meal would then often be a small one and then we head off to bed. Lunch would be a simple sandwich and no extras would be included.
We did know from the outset that we may well lose weight from all this extra exercise and therefore weighed ourselves before we started to see how much we would end up losing.
Well the result was much bigger than we thought and we lost a joint amount of 4.8 kilos in weight loss. Wow I can’t believe we have shed 10.5 pounds in a month just from moving house and everything that goes with it.
It’s just such a shame that we don’t move house more often!
We actually ended up eating a lot of supermarket bought pizzas and a lot of sandwiches so our overall diet was not great, and this just proves the difference a LOT of physical exercise can do to your weight plan and what a boost it can give you.
It also cheers you up rather a lot to say that you have lost 10.5 pounds without even trying to do so!
On another note – our beautiful daughter Sofia is now just under 12 pounds and she feels so heavy so 10.5 pounds is probably heavier than what we actually think!
