When you first start blogging it is always super exciting when someone visits your blog. What started off with you being the only visitor soon becomes “other people” and before you know it, its not just your mother that comes in to have a look round!
But once you get 100 visitors a day, then you have turned a corner because that is the hard bit. It’s getting those first 100 visitors because once you have done it, you can then do it again and again.
Start by analysing the traffic you have got
For example what was the trick to get 3000 visitors a day? Was it a pin on Pinterest? Or a blog post that has shown up in the search engines? Or even a really good social media update?
No matter what it is, it is important to look at it and then rinse and repeat. If you have a successful Pinterest pin ask yourself what has this one got that is so special? Was it is the style? The colours? The size? And what was in the content?
For example my most popular has always been the ones that are associated with rapid weight loss. Such as fat burning soups and my weight loss experiments. I learnt this early on with my blog and now spend more time on these posts than any other. They probably also account for about 70% of all the content of My Weight Loss Dream.
It is therefore all about finding a good thing and then repeating it. Then before you know it you have turned your 100 visitors into 1000 a day, then you have increased it more and more and more!
Turning your visitors into buying visitors
Now this is the hardest part and is also the reason why so many bloggers in the food niche struggle so much to make a decent living from their blog. It’s because people are there to get the recipe and then they leave. They are not going to click on adverts, they are not going to click on affiliate links and they are not going to make you no money.
So you can approach this in two directions:
- Add a call of action to these posts – in these browsing posts offer them something that they need and that they would want to buy after reading your recipe. This could be the purchase of 25 similar recipes or it could be a way to lose weight following these recipes.
- Get more visitors to your buying posts – we all have buying posts on our blogs, where our sole intention is to make money from those posts. Take my resources for weight loss bloggers If you can achieve 20 visitors to your paid post, then what can you actually do to bring 40 visitors to it, or 100 or what about 1000? Then constantly build up that page as once it is bring 1000 visitors a day, then you know that it will make your blog a very good profit!
Now think about how you can improve your blog pages. Is there something you should be doing with your traffic so that it makes you the best profit margins without you having to do too much work? After all, that’s what blogging is all about!
