The traffic is now coming in and now we want to work on the income streams. There is no point spending all that time on your blog if you’re not going to monetise it. Even if you don’t have much traffic it doesn’t matter, as it is never too soon to monetise a site.
But to start with, it can be hard work because not many people will deal with you if you’re a low traffic site. But you still have options and this is what we have done so far…..
We have opened up a Fiverr account and set up some gigs for selling social media advertising on our blog. We also have more than 2000 followers on Instagram so this is an excellent start for getting things moving! We also plan to add banner advertising options at a later date too.
We have also created a sales funnel that people can enter in order to join our mailing list. They visit this page and then enter their email address. After that they are taken to their download page and also the page for a pre-sell of a popular Paleo cookbook that is sold on Clickbank.
Then if they choose to leave either page they are presented with a one time offer for the same affiliate product.
It then gives us the chance to build up our mailing list and make some money at the same time.
We have added Adsense to the site. It is great for when you have a small site for a little bit extra. Though I don’t see it as a main source of income as it’s just not worth it for the amount of traffic you need for it to become a decent income stream.
If you’re thinking about Adsense aim for in post Adsense as it converts much better.
Now this is one of my favourite income sources. You can use the content you’ve already written on your site, convert it into PDFs and you suddenly have ebooks to sell on the Kindle.
It is also very easy to rank for some great keywords on there too, so you don’t need to make much effort.
Plus there are also some good Kindle alternatives such as Apple, Barnes & Noble and Nook.
I am now looking forward to increasing these income streams and testing what has the best results so that I can rinse and repeat.
