Thanks for coming to read our latest blogging income report for July 2015. This reflects exactly what has happened in the last month for this blog only. We share our income reports for this site as we want to show our readers how you can make a passive income from a blog beyond Adsense.
I started My Weight Loss Dream with Dominic back in 2012 as a way to be accountable for my weight loss. It was something that was more important to us from a weight loss prospective rather than a money one. We are now nearly 140 pounds lighter (between us) and $49,000 better off.
This blog income counts for about 2% of our monthly online income and is part of our passive income adventures online. The rest of our income is from other blogs similar to this one in a whole range of niches, coaching clients away from weight loss and managing websites for clients.
Today marks the 12 month anniversary since we viewed our house that we bought from our income made from our internet marketing business that we sold last year and it feels amazing to be typing this from our home office and seeing how far we have come.
We are thrilled that you are joining us on this and hope things are going well in your own blog.

More information on our revenue & profit during July 2015:
For a passive blog in the weight loss niche this is the kind of income we would expect for this time of the year. You can keep the exact same SEO positions in July as you do in January but because people don’t want to lose weight and are off drinking a lot of wine and eating lots of pizza they put their diet on hold.
You have to expect this and to have lots of blogs in different niches so that what is quiet on one site is busy on another. So if you feel you might fall into this look what could be the opposite of the diet slow down. For example we have blogs in the travel niche and love how it’s the perfect season right now, where as in December when travellers are more interested in spending time with their families you can really “go for it” with your diet site.
It’s all about striking a great balance with your online business or businesses.
Many people ask me how much time I spend on this site and the truth is about 6 days a month (if that). I have an excellent team behind me to make it as passive as possible. In the long term I imagine that I will have sold My Weight Loss Dream in the next 12 months. Just because I expect to have finished losing weight by then, will have launched new products surrounding it and then gone out on a high.
Nothing much to report on changes in revenue this month, accept that we have a new Adsense alternative that we are trying out this month.
You might have seen the ads they look like this:
They are by Content.Ad and are getting us a few good click throughs. Many people contact us after reading our income reports to tell us that we are not earning enough from Adsense. Yet when I point out that if I only had Adsense I would have more and how much my ads add up to altogether they never email me again. This is because I like variety so if one isn’t working out that you have others to back you up.
More information on our traffic during July 2015:
Things haven’t changed but our traffic has gone down again. I put this down to the fact it is summer and everyone is getting fat rather than getting thin. Though, from a personal prospective I find it easier to lose weight in summer with all the nice days out and how many calories you end up burning during the summer season.
I did touch on it in last month’s income report and here is how this time last year faired in comparison:
On a traffic point of view we have had a lot of changes this month. We have started to brand ourselves on Instagram by recycling old content and from just getting our name out there. It has led us to growing our following from 300 to 1000 in one month and has also led to a drip feed of traffic.
We have also started our very own Podcast – it was a challenge to get started that was for sure. But we were soon up and running with our own equipment and I am finding that it is great fun.
You can follow our Podcast by clicking here and see what we have been up to with it. Currently we have recycled some old blog posts that we are promoting and we have now moved onto a running series for the fitness section of our blog.
I love RPM because it tells me for every 1000 page loads how much my site is making. It is also down to averages too, so if you have a high paying advertiser one month it can bump it up and then it can bump back down the month after.
For the month of July 2015 we had a rate of $22.08 so not bad for a passive blog but not as amazing as some months. Though, I have seen a lot of income reports with RPM in the level of $10-$12 so I shouldn’t complain should I?
We have also built a new portfolio page for our ebooks (this is one of the many features of our new Themedy Skin we are on). It allows us to have a one stop place for selling our weight loss products.
You can see it in action on the link below:
We are about to start with some new PPC (pay per click) over the next month or so for some of our ebooks we are promoting and we are looking forward to getting back into Facebook & Bing Ads and I am sure we will share with you our conversions.
We are also starting a new micro niche site over the next month and because it is in the weight loss niche it will appear in these income reports. So I am looking forward to sharing it with you from the start so that you can watch over my shoulder as I build a new site, drive traffic, monetise and then sell it on as a quick Flippa flip.
